Notes taken while reading Walt's gesture drawing stuff

1. Emotion
2. Solid drawing
3. Why does he/she do it?
4. Go for the truth
5. Those who are not hunters do not see these things (same with skateboarding)
6. Sketch always
7. Take notes
8. Differentiate your lines
9. Ignore details; concentrate on gesture and proportion -> simplify!
10. See and draw in 3D
11. Get a strong first impression
12. Get the feeling
13. Draw with a purpose
14. Search
15. Angles and tension
16. First sketch the whole action
17. Weight
18. Push the gesture
19. Stick to the theme
20. Hands, feet and eyes (aye aye capt'n, piratestyle!)
21. Avoid lines that don't describe anything
22. Extremes

Good times!

Drawings from January. After the first week or so of January I seem not to have drawn anymore, which is weird. But now I've drawn some things again, and they are in here as well. If you can pick the five new drawings in this post, you win a free trip by foot to Amsterdam. Ain't that something! Well, here are my little monsters:

It's been so long, soooo long (music playing in the background...)

Little hello there,

it's been a while since i've posted something here, so here's one: I'm leaving for Barcelona again this saturday, to skate. The only problem is that my knee is lovemakinged-up. I can ride, but I can't do too many other stuff so that's kind of a big bummer. But, BCN is always a joy to be in, so I'll quit wining about it and take it like a man!

I've been very busy doing nothing that has to do with art, or well, almost nothing because I've been 3D-ing quite a bit. Using Google Sketch-up (great program by the way!), I model houses that we would like to have one day. Ofcourse we'll never have the kind of money to buy the things I design, so I've also made a model of the house that we have just bought! That's right, this man is moving out of Hasselt, and into Kuringen (near Hasselt ;)). The house still neads heaps of work, but it's gonna be worth it! Maybe I'll post the models here as well (but they are far from done).

Anyhow, I hope you didn't get too bored reading all this crap.

Take care and see you when I get there,

Dennis.
